Ground Breaking: Dedication Date: June 24, 2002 at 3:30pm Namesake: The name was picked because of the formation of the structure when viewed from the sky. Namesake History: Building History: The Crossings was built as a 626 bed resident hall due to the high demand of housing among students. This residence hall is a suite style housing unit. The four wings are named Bancroft East, Bancroft West, Dorr East, and Dorr West in hopes to be named in the future after donors to the University. It cost #33 million to build and encompasses 233,000 sq. ft. There are 118 suite-style rooms which each included housing for six students in three double bedrooms, a bathroom and living area.
